Our Story

“From the wooden shanty to concrete building”

“A story that he never told anyone”

Mr. Chaiya Rapuepol aka "KO DAM" started off as hotel accountant over 30 years ago. Generally, he is kind of go to decision making businessman. He dreamed of opening his company once in a lifetime and pursue his dream.

Ko dam came from Krabi Province, where there are mountains and palm forest, but he never see the real sea and beautiful beaches. He came to Phuket to work in a hotel and once he stepped into Phuket, he saw the crystal sea water and white sand beach like you guys did, he fell in love with the beauty of Phuket right away.

In that time, Phuket is not getting popular as is now, however as he worked in the hotel, getting to see foreigners coming to the hotel everyday is lighting his light bulb that he can actually provide services for them to let them enjoy the experiences much more.

So he came up with the idea of marine travel area, he think that Phang Nga bay is real hidden gem in his year. Phuket and phang nga is actually close together and people are actually come to see the real beauty of Thailand. As a result, he come up with the canoeing at “Phang Nga Bay”, the real unseen of Thailand back in the 90s.

Start from scratch

As he came from rural area, working in hotel, is real struggles for him to start the business. However as he really do have passion for the sea, his dream must be conquer no matter what happen. (Like you guys, dreams are create to test your love and passion for the things that you really want.

He worked real hard, take all OT and any jobs that will lead him to his dream. He took around a year to collected all the money and bought his first van, yes as you know all the cost must be at minumum, he drove the van by himself to pick up customers and take to the boat. You wouldn’t believe how much can one person actually do to achieve his dream.

He took care of all the jobs in the business, starting off with the booking reservation, managing pickup van, buy grocery and drive a van to the pier and actually sitting to check-in customers one by one until he every bit of customers are gone. He Jumped on the boat to manage inside the boat.

He took care of all customers, serving drinks, bring up the food buffet, sometimes he do tour guide by himself and one thing that you wouldn’t miss him doing is rowing the canoe.

As you know all the duty is taken care by kodam, he’s real fighter there. From wooden shanty to concrete building is a real deals, like a dream come trues.

Running business is like a roller coaster, no matter how well you’re doing, there will always be struggles along the way. Everyday he faced and deal with all problems and never quit. Once you step in a door, there are no turning back for him, if he put his eyes on it, he will have to get it. (always morally)

As he closed with nature since he born, nature is already been part of his life. He chose to create the trip to phang nga bay because in that time, there are no one talk about the real beauty of phang nga, he knew that everyone will have smiles on their faces if they see the scenery.

A stalactites islands, emerald green water with blue sky and hidden diamond cave is getting his attentions. And when he look around, the only activity that he can think of that will perfectly fit with the view, canoeing. He think that how amazing it would be to take everyone of you to see the beauty inside the cave. He just want everyone to be happy. A true chief joyful bringer!!!

His first "wooden boat"

To travel to Phang Nga bay, the most perfect way is getting on wooden boat, ride along the sea wave and let the nature gently breezzing your hair and sea salt on your skin. Wooden boat is actuall one of the signature boat that people use in the sotuhern part thailand which they normally use for fishing.

He took all the money he collected from his van business and put into his first ever wooden boat.

He named it “ Chok Thipawan ” . He name it after he had his first-born daughter.

After he launched his “James bond day trip by signature wooden big boat”. It's getting really good.

He never miss a chance to pass on his service-minded legacy to us

When he works his ass of on the boat, he showed all the staffs how it’s shoud be done and treat staff like family. He believe that if he can pass his legacy through his staffs, all customers will be so happy with the experieces. He just a man who truly love to put smiles on everyone’s faces.

When team become our family..

As you know that our company has opened for over 30 years., some of our teams are staying since the opening of the company until now. When you booked our James Bond by big boat, you will see him "Guide Aom (aka Banana) and Guided Amid (aka Jimmy) .

Our team is real laughter maker, they naturally know how to make you smiles. They love to have fun with all our customers, they like to bring smiles and create the most fun vibe.

As his ideas getting a lot more attention, his business is running real good. He pass his business to his 2nd generation which is his daughters. He truly believe that the services that he create will forever be one of favourite in our customers hearts.

To sum up, Kodam is one of the people who we can learn that “even though your dream seems unreachable with your current circumstances, if you really want it, you will definitely do anything to get it” .

As we never said this , but as we’re daughters, we’re truly proud of him and grateful to have him as our role model.
